Web Developer

what.it.is seeks an experienced, driven web developer to produce functional, standards-compliant experiences for websites targeting users across browsers and devices to work on a contract basis. On a day-to-day basis you will work with our lead developer and the design team to produce innovative experiences on the web. This includes – but is by no means limited to – responsive HTML layouts, product development for clients and partner companies, custom API and product integrations, custom UI controls and behaviors, as well as maintenance of existing client sites.

Applicants must have the availability to work 25-35 hours per week, or have the ability to take on projects on an individual project basis.

Experience & Qualifications

• Fluent in current HTML/CSS best practices and execution
• Strong knowledge of Javascript, Javascript optimization, and common libraries
• Core understanding and familiarity with PHP
• Experience working with a variety of CMS platforms (WordPress, Contentful, other headless CMSs)
• Proven ability to test and troubleshoot compatibility issues across browsers and devices
• Experience working in a fluid manner with design teams to take approved UI designs and make them a reality – Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite experience a must
• Experience building with app frameworks such as Ionic, Angular / React a plus
• .NET and/or ASP.NET experience a plus
• Experience managing multiple projects, tasks and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to execute at a high level within tight timeframes
• Willingness to be flexible and responsive as priorities and client needs change
